We interacted with Adrienne as a buying party for one of her listings. She allowed us to see the place twice on two consecutive open houses. We brought our friends for the first viewing, our realtor for the second one. We loved everything about the place and were ready to put an offer down. We had a hard time hiding it. Unfortunately, another party submitted a very tightly timed offer. We only had two hours to respond, with our realtor rushing to get the paperwork ready. They had multiple phone calls, with us clearly expressing the intent to buy. Ten minutes before the other offer was expiring, we made clear we'd send a better one. The sellers however accepted the expiring offer. Had we known that the sellers wanted to see the written intent in their hands, we would have sent a contract to prove it. Instead, we were being stalled with asks to "improve the offer". The sellers ended up selling for a lower price than what we expressly intended to buy it for, and we lost an opportunity to live in our dream home. A clear loose-loose situation for 2 of the 3 parties involved.
